NO DSP in nav system??? Z4

I just installed an OEM nav retro system into my 2007 Z4 M Coupe.

When I do into the DSP menu I can not turn the DSP "on" or do the demo or anything.

Any suggestions of what could be wrong?

Thanks
Jim

Does the retrofit include the DSP amp? if the DSP amp is a retrofit then the car need coded so that it's an option (SAXXX) in the cars GM module, GT1 will add it for you.

You are correct. I also didn't have DSP until my dealer completed the programming.

Thanks for the replies guys.

No, I did not install a DSP amp as part of my nav retrofit. I was assuming that my car already has it and it is the "amp" that is mounted to the wall in the cargo area. I have an 07 Z4 M coupe that has the premium sound package.

I think I am going to get NavCoder so maybe that is something I can use to get my DSP function in the nav software functioning. As a last resort I'll bring my car to my dealer for programming.

Thanks again
Jim

The dsp amp will need recoded then, cars with nav are coded different to cars without nav.

ccfji is spot on. The DSP is alive and talking, but is not responding to commands from the Nav, because the DSP does not know the nav is fitted yet (coding issue)
