Concentrate on the FM. Get it working first. Even with no FM antenna, you can increase the volume to hear the FM hiss. If you cannot swap DSP amps, consider SOT-060 for Ģ5 on eBay with one speaker to thes the BM24 or BM54back speaker outputs. |

I am a little confused by some of the comments on converting an e39 from MKI to MKIII/IV. You need the upgrade adapter cable P/N 61 12 6 915 132 and to keep TV you need a new video module which is very different from the old MKI type VM. Also if the e39 is anything like my early e38 750 there are 3 sound systems available. I have the intermediate which is the HiFi with separate amp. The best is called the Top HiFi Professional (or DSP system) which has a much larger separate amp. I am confused by the mention of DSP and DSP2. What is DSP2?

So I did a little research today.
My car has DSP (first generation) and it has the socalled Business RDS. I tried a Professional module today and it didnīt work at all just like the BM54back wont work. Tape runs okay when the Business RDS is installed. It seems the FM passes thru wenn the car is cold meaning when I turn on the radio it works for about ten minutes or so then it cuts of the sound when operating in FM mode. I hear white noise in the background which leads me to think that it could be a tuner prob or? At this point it cannot be the antenna amp as I have switched it already. My question now is why the h... canīt I get the Professional RDS to work with my DSP? Is it because the later version was digital and mine is analog or? I really need to get the facts straight here. |

Hi there! I'm new to this, I read the full topic but I have a few questions.
So here I go, this is my case: BMW E46, retrofitted the 16:9 nav, OEM mp3 changer. How do I update the software on the BM54, so I can make it read text and tags, like id3? Can you please provide the last version of the software, that makes it read tags? So I can re-write the EPROM? Please post the link for the software in a private message. Thank you very much! |

Hi guys!
I'm new here. Found your posts and was happy. First of all, about my history of killing BM54 Professional of my car. My car has 16:9 Monitor, NAV MK3, CD changer, TV tuner, BM54 Professional, PDC Cd changer, NAV MK 3, Monitor didn't work till i connect I-BUS cabl of BM54 Professional with PDC. I wanted to search why and burned my BM54 Pro. I found BM54 Beck with round pins. Tried to solder mine PCB to that workable block. After that my radio start working but without CD changer, it couldn't see it, when i click mode to cd-changer it goes again to main menu. Then i soldered from my block 29F400 chip, after that my radio start working and CD looked like working but there wasn't any sound in my speakers, i mean that i hear how my CD disc is rotates and it didn't go to main menu and showed track numbers and CD disc numbers. But there wasn't any sound from CD-changer. I decided to solder other chips and soldered next ones: DSP/DAC O-A-S-I-S, small i2c eeprom, DSP EPROM SA35FTW(This chip on 54Beck is soldered, on mine not). After that it stop working. I decided to solder back chip by chip and started from SA35FTW and my radio start working again but without CD, by clicking on modes it goes to main menu again when i choose CD-changer. What should i do? how to make my CD work again? I don't know have i DSP or not. If it's possible, please, help me to find it if i have it. Sorry for my English... |

Maybe whatever damaged BM54 also damaged CDC. Do you have another CDC to test?

CDC is workable... i found workable BM54 from another car to check in my car and it worked and played everything. Maybe i should load new dump to SA35FTW? It looks like it can't digitalize sound from CDC. it looks like it's loading and playing music and forward and backward is looks like working but no sound in speakers. What could it be? And how should i write new dump to SA35FTW?

My radio worked again and CDC is not. i soldered back DSP EPROM SA35FTW with small i2c eeprom. Now it's see CDC and rotate it. But no sound. How do you think, maybe I also need to solder Main MCU with ext MCU RAM from my block?
