It is not only a problem of brand what works for you could not work for others. I believe many factors are involved. The final result comes not only from the dvd but from the PC you are using to master, the software used, the laser itself and so on.
Based on my experience I would definitely suggest to use a good quality DVD but also pay much attention at the burning process. I leave it burning at very slow speed and do not touch the notebook for any other jobs. So far I never had mistakes. I used verbatim, hp and other. I manage .iso files with ULTRA ISO and burn with IMAGE BURN using an old notebook SONY VAIO.
