I modded the dvd and as soon as possible I am going to test it. For you information I found only small differencies if compared to previous edition.
There are two more categories in POIs and the dvd structure has been slightly modified. We have now two tables folders where we can locate/put .idx. .url files.

BMW Update DVD EUROPA Europe Road Map High 2012 MK4 BMW Update DVD EUROPA Europe Road

I have just tried making a DVD5 version (french language) by removing all language directories except the FRE one.
As The image file was still too big for a DVD5 I also removed \TPD\NCCBEUFNM_EU_20110614\TABLES

The DVD loads OK and Maps and navigation screens seem OK. I do not have POIs anymore.

Is there a better way to proceed to have a DVD5 image size and retain the POIs?

Yes there is a better way.do no touch that folder.that is the tables folder.you have to study more and you can not proceed just by chance.you need to know what to remove and not just deleting folders without knowing what you are doing

I did not proceed by chance and before my try I studied how the image sized was reduced for a 2012 High german speaking disk available on the net.

You seem to know how to proceed and I am willing to learn from your experience.... it is up to you to post some guidelines or suggestions.

I am not here to teach anybody how to act or behave, but I do not like people jumping into the forum asking for "ready-to-eat" stuff when other people do the job. For sure this is not your case but the number of your posts could be a sign. Before asking I try to do all my best trying to undertsand what to do. This is a great forum and all the information are available if you search in the proper way. Said that, I guess you were able to get the DVD, so you have to reduce the size. Removing the languages is not sufficent. You need to remove something you do not need or you won't bother if you are missing it. If you know the structure of the map DVD you can very very easily understand what I mean. Open the dvd structure, have a print out of the .lsc file and you will understand what I am trying to tell you.Think about it and let me know. I will guide you.

Vince59,
You should keep your lessons...
When I know something, I share my knowledge.
I believe this what forums are for.

I will pursue my search without your help.
