how did this thread get dug out of the archives? It's a year old ;)

Asking what radar detector is best is like asking which wax is best.... uh oh, now i've opened another can of worms ;)

My point is...I upgrade my gear on a regular basis and sell the older unit on Ebay...quite frankly its cheaper than paying V1 $185 for and update to the ugliest radar detector on the market. Besides the test results speak for themselves...did you see the comparison of distance results in the link above?

Sure I did. What do looks have to do with performance? Bels are uglier in my opinion. Escort looks the best. Doesn't matter though, its how they perform. You like your radar, and I like mine. Thats all there is to it. Both are great radars, however there will always be a newer better model.:thumbup:

I recently bought a Passport solo S2. I went for the cordless S2 as I can use it on any of my cars plus my motorbike. Although it is a little bit less sensitive than the V1 it does a good job and saved my ass a couple of times already in only one month of owenership.
