Espresso Machines vs Coffee Maker
 

I have a nice espesso maker but don't use it every day.

A coffee maker makes coffee quick and easy.

A epresso make make a much smaller amount of coffee and requires more work.

I thought this thread was about Coffee makers not Espesso?

What is the best coffee maker ?

I think they only sell blended coffee, so my guess would be Central & South America with some African beans as well.....

In my opinon, the best coffee maker is the Technivorm. If you ever get to a roasting facility you will find this brand to be the most common brewer. Most brewers (and I am talking about you Krups and Braun amongst others) do not get the water to to proper temperature. As a result you do not get the proper extraction (grind, bean freshness, and water play a huge part and that was not part of the question) when brewing drip coffee. If you take the same coffee, same water, same grind, etc. you will find that the Technivorm will make best coffee (IMHO). This is not with out a cost, as a Technivorm is not inexpensive see http://sweetmarias.com/prod.technivorm.shtml and to me it is worth every penny.

We have the Keurig. We absolutely love it. The selection on the Website is amazing. Try the German Chocolate Cake, amazing. Every so often we just go to the website, stock up on the different varieties, they ship it and we get it in a few days.

It takes 30 seconds to brew an excellent cup of coffee. The selection of K-cups is pretty good from Green Mountain, Diedrich, Gloria Jeans, Timothy's, Van Houtte, etc. I like a bold cup of coffee and so far my favorites are the Green Mountain Sumatran Reserve Extra Bold and Black Magic Extra Bold.

I agree that for the ultimate coffee you need to grind your own beans, however, the simplicity of pushing a button and getting a consistantly good cup of coffee in under a minute is as addicting as the caffeine itself.:) And no cleanup.

You can also get a reusable filter through Keurig if you really want to use your own beans.

With the Gaggio, one button and the beans are grinded and extraction commences.

Yes, the Gaggia Titanium looks like a wonderful espresso machine. However, I was looking for a simple coffee maker at 1/10th the price.

Hopefully someday there will be a Gaggia in my future...
