I was in Costco the other day and noticed they have 5.8 Ghz packages from both Panasonc and Uniden that come with four (yes four) phones as standard in the Uniden and three for the Panasonic. They were both priced below $200 cdn. http://www.costco.ca/en-CA/Browse/Pr...rodid=10286951

I've had both Panasonics and Unidens. I find the Unidens to have a slightly metallic and hollow sound, while the Panasonics sounded more like a land line.

Once again, panasonic. I have one with 3 additional handsets. Work great!

I guess by sucked I mean I would rather just use my cell phone :)

Wagner, you're the only person so far that doesn't like the Panasonic phone. Can you elaborate? which model?

A couple of days ago I bought a Panasonic KXTG5431S 5.8 single handset with answering machine to replace our dying Uniden. My landline gets little use these days, since everyone except my wife uses cellphones as their primary devices. The price was right - $36 at Costco. Neatest feature - dial flashes different colors for different callers. No need to walk to the phone to check caller ID.

Take a look at siemens...gigaset. Expandable and everything else you would desire...quite sleek and best of all German made!

Panasonic is ok...been through quite a few. They work just fine but not too exciting.

Good quality, i own one. However they are to expensive, user interface complicated. Costco has the Uniden Powermax 5.8
in a blister pack. So easy to program, works great, and THE PRICE! Oh yeah. Now were talkin.
