If that is fraud, then the problem is widespread. I'd say most of the government contracts I've gotten have been this way.

That's because all the good Nokia phones are never released in the US. Take a look at the ones the Europeas get. But they are always Tri-Band GSM/GPRS with 2100 band UMTS, and only work well in Europe.

Taxes are not supposed to be some mafia extortion deal where you pay a percentage so that they leave you alone.

Taxes are supposed to be paid so that the government provides services. And I see very crappy services being provided compared to the taxes that I pay. I do get very upset when I find out my tax money is being given away to the buddies of the politicians and spent on crap that we don't need.

And it gets me even more upset when the government tries to play me like a fool by telling me that we do need what they are buying. I'd prefer they simply sent out $10 billion checks to all the large corporations and were just honest that this is what they were doing. But instead, they have to do crap that results in people dying just to prove that there is this big threat and that we need this rediculously idiotic military budget which is higher than the GDP of 95% of the countries in the world.

So yes, I am pissed!

And what scares me the most is that I believe that one day all this military aggression around the world is going result in New York City looking like Berlin did in 1945. At some point the world is going to have had enough and is not going to put up with this crap. I just hope that Americans realize it before it is too late, and that we put a stop to it ourselves. Because it will be stopped at some point, one way or the other -- that I have no doubt. History tells that lesson.

I don't have numbers in front of me, but I'm guessing that Nazi Germany's military spending in today's dollars was probably higher. They clearly had the best military in the world, by far. They were defeated, not because they did not have the best military, but because they were fighting too many wars on too many fronts at the same time, and they were simply outnumbered.

Sure it had nothing to do with Hitler being a nut job, or killing/firing his generals?
