wear your gear.. 95% of the time, it's the idiots around you that could cause you to go down.

I second this advise. The Only time I had a serious motorcycle accident on public roads, a blind fookin' idiot hit me. I'm only here today 'cause I was wearing Full protective gear.

I cannot agree more either. I had one and only one crash. I was riding slow (20/25mph) down town Paris when a woman illegally parked on the side opened her door right in front of me. I could not avoid it.

First let me say that I DO NOT support that type of riding but here is quite an amazing video. Not the best video quality but still very impressive. It is in French so let me give you some information about this video before you view it. This was filmed on the 'boulevard peripherique' in Paris, a road which circles Paris and where the speed limit is 80kmh (50mph).The max speed reached by that guy during this ride is 280kmh(174mph) but he is pretty often between 200 and 230kmh. This is a very busy road even at 6/7am in the morning when that was taken. Imagine going that fast on the Hutchinson River parkway in New-York. I am not sure what model of bike it is but the riders says it has 140hp. At the end it took 11mns for this guy to go around Paris.
