Don't boost it if you can't ride it! Maybe someone at the chop shop will hook you with a lesson.

My thoughts exactly. Another thing, if you're thinking about getting a superbike as your first ride, start with something a little smaller until you know what you're doing. Those things can kill you real fast if you don't. Hell, they can even kill you if you do!

I started riding when I was 14. Honda Trail 70. Worked my way up.

Man, if you have to ask, you shouldn't be buying a motorcycle much less a superbike. If you do, I hope your cataracts, kidneys, and liver will enjoy their new homes.

Seriously, get some training.

:iagree: ...nearly in the same league as "Hey, anyone know how to fly and
land the plane?"

I've been riding, a lot, since I was 14, for 45 years...no xpert here, and I do ride with
some near pro track riders, (well, "with" is an exaggeration!).

My advice, if you have to ask a question like that, is don't.

Start out with a small, not-so-hyper motorcycle and by all means, take a Motorcycle Safety Foundation class BEFORE hitting the streets. These classes are excellent, tough, enjoyable, and will arm you with the tools you need to be a safe rider. They offer different levels of training starting from beginners to advanced training for experienced riders. Whatever the cost, if you're going to be riding on public roads, it will be money well spent. Keep us posted on what you decide! Super bikes are a blast!!!

:iagree:

It's the only way to be safe and responsible. From the way your post is written, you have never been on any motorized two-wheeler -- which is fine, but please, be safe and well-informed before you buy a "superbike".

Oh, and don't forget that the salesmen will push some 600s as beginner bikes when they are even more sick than the "liter" bikes. Try an EN500 or the Kawi 500cc or SV600 to start out.

I use to ride a dirt bike and it was great fun. But with all the jerks on the street, a road bike is like smoking its only a mater of time before they get you.
