That's what I thought. I have RTTI for 4 years, but nobody told me anything about BMW Assist when I took delivery. In fact, he was in such a hurry, he only went over iDrive with me, leaving everything else for me to figure out. tsk tsk.
Anyways, how do you activate it? I only once pushed the SOS button, to make sure it worked.

Did anyone answer when you pushed the button and confirm your location and details.

Mapquest only helps when you know where you're going. Often, my wife's job requires her to go a client's office on very short notice, and the BMW assist people have actually stayed on the phone with her, talking her through every turn until she gets to her location. Oh yeah, mapquest cannot make hotel or restaurant reservations for you, either. :D

Yeah, the service is worth the extra five bucks we pay a month, thank you. :)

No.
It my location showed up in the form of Lat and Long cordinates, and a computerized voice said I was in a Titianium Silver X5 3.0si 2007, and then gave the the street I was on.

Juan- I do what I've been doing for about ten years- call my lieutenant and tell him/her to get on google, mapquest, the ultimates, etc. and hook me up!

Incidentally- how is the concave roof?

It positively sucks... it's not intuitive nor user-friendly. It is the worst BMW implementation ever.

Seems like a pretty good deal for $5/month if you don't have nav, considering what all you've been able to use them for.

Sounds like a very useful feature.

The girl's going in next week for a much-needed cosmetic visit. Getting two wheels buffed (curb rash), detailed, and a renewal of that teflon coating wax thingy... So, while there, they will also take out the butt print on the roof. She'll be better than new when she leaves the dealership. :D

Thanks for asking.

Juan
