To boot off a CD, you have to be able to get into the bios to put the CD drive in front of the hard drive in the boot order. Since Michelle can't get the machine to even power up, what drive it boots off of doesn't matter. It is likely then the problem is the mother board or a component on it, or the power supply (which is still my bet). Dan |

Some clarification...
The computer does not make any noise when I try to turn it on. It only made those noises after I thought it was powered off last week. Now, when I push the power button, NOTHING happens -- no beeps, no lights, no sounds, no fan running, NOTHING! (Sorry for the confusion!!) |
Maybe check for a fuse or circuit breaker located on the power supply itself?
|
since the computer was making beep-beep-beep sounds, that could indicate failing RAM memory.

Sounds like a dead Mommy-board. Bring it over Michelle and I will see what I can do. I do get to copy all the pr0n you have on the puter right?
