mD,
I'll add to the pile and recommend ditching Norton. Terrible POS for consumers. Their corporate versions are a little better. I'm currently running NOD32 from http://eset.com. It's lightweight and does well on the AV detection comparison tests. P |
Thanks, Gang...
I may uninstall or jes' forget about the current Norton, as the sumbitch expires in Dec., anyhoo. Back at the ranch, has PC user done the latest batch of the 6 huge MS updates that came out on Tuesday? My wonderment is that batch of downloads has really played hell with my 'puter. I woulda skipped the bastards if I knew it was going to cause this crap. Nothing else has "changed" or, been changed, except for that mega 6 part update/download. My CEO's Yahoo games are not accessible, some of my sites, including this one, run like molasses in January, etc. I can't get to Google's spell check off their tool bar, etc., etc. This sucks. Looking around the PC Mag site, I see pages of beefs following this latest batch of "fixes" from MS, and most of the beefs are from tech heads; this low tech user has no fookin chance... NE1 else do that recent download and has hell to pay? I'm thinking of getting out Mr.Mossberg, lol! Thanks, mD |
I install all the updates yesterday and everything still works ok, including Yahoo Games, what operating system are you running Dave?
|
STILL... GET A MAC!!!
|

when you start up your computer, press and hold F8 until you come to the screen that says "Start Windows in Safe Mode", then proceed in safe mode. Now, when it brings you to your login screen, there will be a new account there called administrator. Log in as Administrator and then f*ck with your computer all you want.
Cheers! |
Thanks, Gang...
when I get back to it, I will try to fix/resolve this. I run a Clean Machine and never had a prob with the MS updates. Our system is fooked up since the biggie download/update, yesterday. Hellsbells, half the stuff I have/use, no longer works. I may shoot this sumbitch; OS are freakin insidious, imo. Cheers, mD |
