As much fun as it is to drive the benchmark small sports sedan (330xi, for those of you who are too lazy to read my sig, posts, etc.) I really miss having the X5. I liked almost everything about it better. The ONLY things I like better about the 330xi are the manual transmission and the gas mileage. Other than that, I liked the X5 much better. So, in a few years' time, I'm going to look for a bigger car. It's tough fitting three friends in the car with me sometimes, because the back seat is tiny. You could seat 5 people in the X5 with no real problems. Also, the trunk is pretty darn small! I think an E60 545i 6-speed would be fun :) ... Depending on WHEN I get my next car (Probably not for another 2 or 3 years) I might look at another X5... I wouldn't want one that's too old (if I got a used E53), and I'm not so sure about the looks of the new one, from the spy shots I've seen. I also like the new Land Rover LR3 and the Audi Q7, and I think the Mercedes ML500 is very appealing. I think it looks nice, and I've read good reviews.

Now that I've figured out some of the mechanical quirks of BMW, I will be looking hard at an E39 M5, E60 545, or an E63 645 or M6 (when it goes on sale). I'm driving my 92 Pathfinder everyday to work (damn it feels good to not car if someone scratches or dents my car in the city, let alone the fact that it'll never get stolen), and my CEO rides the subway, but it'll be time to add something else to the driveway soon. I am on the list to get a crack at the Charger SRT-8, but if that doesn't blow me away when I drive it, I will be looking at getting another BMW. Can't wait to see what they do about the V/X-6 and X-7.

6 series = drooooool! I love them! A 545 would be great. Also, you can't beat the looks of the E39!

Just got this X5 two weeks ago, so no new cars for me for a little while! Traded in a MB CLK500 for it.

Wife has the MB E320 right now, and has her eye on an SL500 in a year or so.

Since I am CURRENTLY in your phase of thinking Juan, I have driven a few cars in recent weeks to see what my near future holds for me...I was an inch from getting an E60 (not sure which one) but drove the E90 and that was basically all she wrote..

BMW did a hell of a job on that thing I must say...(except for the cup holders, LOL..) but yes. Hands down. AND, I wont be getting the bells and whistles either..Blk Sapp, Biege int/premium, and thats it. I drove it last Thursday and fell in love...

The one thing that has gotten me spoiled is the high-seating position. As much as I love the PCar and others, I don't know that I COULD go back to a "regular," low-to-the-ground car.

I used to think that was a bunch of hogwash until I stepped in the E90!! That is probably the HARDEST part...

Not to mention, the age--ahem, ahem--factor, and how important it is not to have to step UP OUT of a car as opposed to stepping DOWN out of one. A pain in the a$$ for those of us lucky enough to have back and or leg issues.. All important factors indeed!

I agree 100%

My next car that I would consider would be a Range Rover...I don't know what it is about that car, but there is something that I really like about it. I wouldn't be getting rid of the X anytime soon but maybe in like 3 or so years.

I wouldn’t get another X if they are going to look like what I have seen in the pictures.

But for right now my parents are looking at buying a LR3 for the winter car because both of their cars don't do well in the snow.
