not here...there but just in a diff. manner...

I guess next time we decide to pull a stun like that maybe instead of coming back with 4 choppers, we might make it with 2...just because the host nation has the right...

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate what you do & hope that you guys stay as safe as possible over there if i can even say 'safe' ..but I definitely don't agree with invading other nations w/o at least letting them know...

Are you joking?

There is absoulely no talking to you about this stuff. You are high on your horse of "we are the good guys and they are the bad guys" no matter what they or we do. If we committed genocide, you would surely come up with a reason why it was justified, while if they spit in our direction, it is because they are evil.

Posada and Bosch were as bad as Osama bin Laden. The two of them were responsible for dozens of bombings of civilian targets in Miami, the hijacking of more than a dozen planes, and the bombing of a civilian airliner in which all 70+ people aboard, mostly Venezuelans and Koreans, were killed. This is not even disputed by the two of them, as both of them have admitted to these things, which they both claim they did while working for the CIA.

Define "state sponsor of terrorism". Silly me, I thought it meant a country who gives financial or other support to terrorists. As the United States does this, and we are not a state sponsor of terrorism, apparently my definition must be wrong. Perhaps you can educate me with a proper defintion.

Better yet, I suppose I'd like to hear a hypothetical example of something the United States COULD do that you would consider terrorism. Because I'm beginning to think that you definition of terrorism look like "Terrorism is.................unless it is done by the United States, in which case it isn't terorrism but is good".

I say good for us. They were less than 5 miles from the Iraq border. We are fighting an enemy that does not fight fairly and sometimes you have to fight a little unfair yourself to level the field.

Maybe we should just sit them down and talk to them and see how that goes. Can't we all get along?

By the way, 100% of the world is never going to like the U.S. regardless of what we do. It actually makes me sick when I think about how much this country does for other countries that hate us as it is.

Eric5273 10-28-2008 10:56 PM

Even the Iraqi puppet government is refusing to go along with this one...

Iraq condemns U.S. assault on Syria
The Cabinet also approves changes to a proposed security deal, including giving Iraq the right to determine whether a U.S. soldier suspected of committing a crime should stand trial in Iraqi court.

Reporting from Baghdad -- The Iraqi government Tuesday condemned a U.S. helicopter assault inside Syria over the weekend as Damascus shut down an American school and cultural center in reaction to the raid.

As the Iraqi government voiced displeasure over the American assault, the Cabinet also approved changes to a proposed U.S.-Iraq security agreement that would allow U.S. forces to stay in Iraq through the end of 2011.

.

You're way out of line....WAY out of line....Even, insinuating that the difference between us and them is only marginal is complete blasphemy...Total garbage....:damn:

Not at all. I'm tired of this "do as I say, not as I do" additude that our government has. If we do it, then it's ok for everyone to do it. There is not one set of rules for the United States and then another set for everyone else.

Everyone has a right to their opinion. Some (like Wagner) think it's ok for a country to attack inside another country's borders to kill a terrorist. Others, like me, think that it's not ok. But it is either ok, or it's not. None of this "it's ok for us, but not other countries".

And this idea that when we allow terrorists to live here it's ok, but when they do it they are sponsors of terror. Do you not see that it's the same?

In my example above, click on the links there to read about those guys, because I'm sure if you don't read about them, then you will have no idea. But during the 1960s, there were bombings of civilian targets in Miami every few months, and there were a number of planes, some American, hijacked by these Cuban terrorist groups, and one plane even blown up. Those two guys have not only admitted to being involved in those plots, but they have bragged about it. They have also said their organizations were being funded by the CIA when they did those things, which fully explains why our government has refused to extradite these guys over to the many Latin American countries where they are wanted on murder and conspiracy charges. What is your definition of "state sponsor of terror"?

But then our government has the nerve to demand that other countries turn over terror suspects like Osama bin Laden. Do you no see the irony in that? Yes, it is indeed the same. If you want to be a positive force in the international community, then you don't spit on your neighbors and then expect them to not spit back. For far too long our leaders have been doing just that, and it's time for a change.

:iagree: As long as we do it its fine...when Russia invaded Gerogia we dammed Russia for doing so...but half the reason they did it is because of us...anyways there is really no point in arguing...I guess the message from most on this thread is that 'any country can use military force in another country for the sake to take out terrorists' ... Nothing more to say...

primetime 10-29-2008 12:26 PM

I know what you're saying Eric, about the cuban's and the 1960's..But the world of terror has changed...And the methods of dealing with them have changed dramatically since 9/11....Just because we didn't cap these fools in the 1960's ..doesn't mean anything...its a whole new ball game...Ironic or not..in all your arguments...Thats the way it is now..

And as far as the CIA being involved? Did an agent tell you this? Do you have confirmation that the CIA was invovled besides the words of these 2 idiots? How about the CIA being involved in JFK's downfall too? Any confirmation on that yet? Come on man...You're stacking theory upon theory until it sounds totally ridiculous...If you had credible confirmation thats one thing..But you don't....

.You've got to get past this whole I'm mad at America because we did this back then, and now we do this today, and they contradict each other..Of course they contradict each other...Do you start a fire with sticks and stones today? or do you use a lighter now?...

And yes we are going to ask a harboring country to turn Bin laden over to us. What the hell do you think we're going to do? That f*cker needs to go down..At what cost? (because I know you're going to ask that) at the cost of him, his cronies, whoever backs him, and whoever supports him and Al Qaeda now..

Look, as i said before.. THEY flew planes into our buildings, THEY drove suicide boats into our ships. We didn't tell them to do that to us..They did it on their own...And to imply that things may have been different if we "were a little nicer" or had better forsight regarding what someone is going to do to us in the future, is total garbage...Because guess what? There is no evidence that it would have been any different what so ever...THEY awoke a sleeping dragon and now its time for them to pay...This thing isn't going to end anytime soon...The war on terror will go on and continue to go on for years and decades to come and probably then some...Thats the reality...no matter who's in the oval office...

And Danyell....Understand something...I said this before...We did what we HAD to do at the time in question...And we're going to keep on doing it...Bush, Obama, whoever..Don't be fooled by Barack...You think Special Operations without warning to foreign nations that we are operating in is ever going to stop? You think Navy SEALS, Army Rangers, Army Delta, Marine Force Recon, were just sitting at home eating Cheetos while Clinton was in office? No... I've said it before...We've been doing this for years..And we will continue to do so....Whether you like it or not...

I understand that m8, but we can't keep doing that...

Granted we did what we had to, but we leave a lot of room for interpretation..not to mention souring relations with Syria...This whole war on terror is impossible to fight it and win it by ourselves, and we are not making any friends out there....One of these countries will strike back and start a whole war because we went on their territory....and guess what..when it will be time to take sides it will be them against us...and that won't take us anywhere....

Understood...but there is no clear path or manual as to how we handle this...Its a crapshoot. As scary as that sounds.. So we do what we can, when we can, and how we can.. Our leaders steer the ship the best way they know how... And again, its been that way for years and years...Bush has nothing to do with it. Republican or Democrat has nothing to do with it...
