Sony makes good LCD sets however when you get up to 50inch plasma is still the best.

Sony Bravia is plasma, i bought sony bravia plasma from dubai, and its amazing, cant complain

Panasonic is one of the best Plasma sets, don't think Sony is known for Plasma.

Quick, I have the Sammy PN50A550 loves it. It's the same TV than the PN50A650 except for the antiglare coating for brighter rooms since mine is in my basement, i didn't have to worry about that. The Pannys are great too, but IMO after a side by side comparaison, the Sammy pic is out of this world. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder so go with wichever you prefer, you can't go wrong with either. BTW check the AVS forum, they have threads dedicated to both TVs with tons of information.

For Plasma hands down... Panny is the best........ and for the Sony LCD's the screens were made by Samsung up to Feb. 2008, since then Sony has switch to Sharp displays...... Sony does not mfg. their own displays.....

Qkag, IMO you should look into LCD over plasma. Better overall format.

Just picked up a Sony 46" Bravia LCD, 120 hz, Bravia 2 engine. It is going to be part of a package that will include a VR setup.

We are keeping the SXRD, but this is nice for a second TV.
