Might want to wait Seth, the Storm 2 is coming in the next couple of months, maybe end of september, and the rumors are it will have WiFi (if you need WiFi that is)

jaybo12/gresch, I would love to wait, but I really need an e-mail phone ASAP for business. I am wasting potential income not having one. My current phone is a 2 year old LG flip phone and is not capable of e-mail. I have been trying to wait in hopes that I would buy the Storm within 30 days of the Storm 2's release. That way I could utilize Verizon's 30 day return policy where all I would have to do is pay a $35 restocking fee and buy the Storm 2 or Omnia 2.

I really need this phone as a phone first, e-mail machine second, text machine third and internet/multimedia last. If I am happy with the touch screen and have to buy a phone immediately, are there any major reasons for me to stay away from it? Wi-Fi is not all that important to me as I am not going to be a heavy internet user as far as my phone is concerned. Also, when I do use it, I won't be downloading/uploading and large files. Comments?

Oh...and because my contract is up, I can get the Storm for $49.95.

I have the latest OS on my storm and it's solid, I have no complaints other than my thumbs are a bit too big for the keyboard. The Storm2 doesn't seem to be much of an upgrade beyond the WiFi and a change in the tactile feedback on the touch screen.

My Storm should be delivered today. Should I assume it will be running the lastest and greatest operating system or do I need to check to be sure?

might want to check. I'm running 4.7.0.148. Another thing that hasn't been mentioned in this thread yet.... it is recommended to do a hard reset of your bb storm every once in a while to optimize your performance because memory leaks and will cause the phone to perform slower. Unfortunately, it IS a terrible downside.

I'm not so sure about the release date of the Storm 2... considering the Bold was "supposedly" coming out last summer and got delayed for almost half a year... Unless the release date is confirmed by an official, everything else is pretty much speculative.

You're going to see a lot of people on blackberryforums.com using beta and/or OS's from other carriers than VZW, I usually stay with the most currently supported by VZW, unless I bump into a bug. But 148 seems pretty solid right now so I'm sticking with it.

I agree....your storm should be set like this already. I think the only thing you'll have to change will be the key rate.......Phil

btw- the USB port on the phone is MICRO USB not MINI USB so you'll have to get a new car charger most probably.
