I have it and it took awhile to get used to the texting aspect. It does freeze up once in awhile and you have to take the battery out. My friend has the bold and the same thing happens to hers. Viewing the internet is alot better than on the curve. But if you text alot I would wait until May when Verizon is going to get something like the Bold.

Got a storm and loving it - I use it mostly for personal entertainment - think music, music videos and IM. Does all those things very well - though getting music videos to work was a hassle as they must be certain formats. Besides that, email and calendar seems to work well - though I dont use the calendar much beyond reminding me of b-days and such.

The downfall of the Storm is that there are not many apps for it yet - and the good apps due to supply/demand are expensive. Also the operating system is still relativly new and doesnt support the capabilities of the phone very well. Granted that both those aspects will improve with time - but I doubt it will ever be an Iphone killer.

The biggest surprise to me was that it intergrates with the bluetooth well in the X5 ('06 E53) - I didnt have many problems with my previous phone, but the BB took it to the next level for me. Sound quality is good and the phonebook is easy to access. Don't know why that surprises me - but it is just nice to have a phone that works well with the handsfree

E61Silver is an unknown quantity at this point
I had one and sent it back. I found it slow and balky. I also find the keyboard on the BB8830 easier to type with. The keyboard also allows for hot key dialing, for example, I have H programed to my home; I just hold down H and the phones dials home. This hot key feature is very important to me.

I think the Storm is pretty solid -- have had it since the first day it arrived at VW. No real complaints, although there have been some glitches, but overall, I would say it has been a decent phone. The internet is pretty quick, BB messenger is useful if you have a lot of friends with BBs, music player is decent and email capability is superior to any other phone. The touch screen takes some getting used to, but above all else, it works with the BT in the X5...

I have one, it works fine with bluetooth in an e70 and a jawbone.

Check out www.blackberryforums.com and www.crackberry.com for specifics on how it works, but I like it, it just took a few days to get used to it.

It should come with .75 firmware, if not, upgrade it immediately. There are leaked beta firmwares out there, I recommend that you don't upgrade to those until they're official, there are varying ideas on whether loading a beta/leaked fw will void your warranty, so don't risk it.

Those 2 sites have suggestions for the settings for typing, as well as hints/tricks/tips on how to use it best.

I will say that if you type on a bberry a lot, an 8830 might be better for you, if you're not a heavy user (with typing) than it will be fine. I don't have a problem with it now, but the first couple of days were tough to get used to it.

Also, you'll need to buy a new car charger, it uses micro-usb not mini-usb so your old charger won't work.

Let me know if you have any questions.
