DSP amp upgrade
No, not the usu post. I have a stock, 06' DSP/NAV, 4.4. I would like a little more power without speaker change out. Can I just add an amp?:dunno: If so which brand/size?
|
im not sure you can add an aftermarket amp to use on the bmw stock subwoofer. I think your best bet would be to install an aftermarket amp and subwoofer in the back. That Will give you a lot more low end bass the stock system does not provide.

Thanks. Any brands,sizes etc...?

there are lots of different amps out there, some very powerful and some that only produce a minimal amount of RMS power. I currently am running an Alpine MRD-M501 Amplifier used to power my two 10inch Diamond Audio subwoofers.
Some good brand name amps are : alpine, jl audio, DLS, dynaudio .... the list is endless |
Thanks!

Let me ask you a few questions. Are you looking for more bass response, louder overall volume or better clarity? We have a few options for you but I'd like to know what you want to acomplish with the upgrades.

I would like the system to push maybe 1/4 to 1/2 half again
than where it is. I have Sirius and the head unit just does not seem to bring out all the music. Some tones seem muted, but seems like you could push it through with a little more power. Think I'm crazy yet? My XM music before just seemed more full. Make any sense? |
