gwc, thanks for the foto  :) I had doubts about aestetic part of the installation... I'm afraid can't ruin such beautiful BMW logo :) Will consider bumblebee or native camera installation...

My life is now complete mate ;)

There are two video inputs, one for the rear cam and also an av input for dvd players et al.The second one is selectable on the tv /av channel.

I have my camera on an av switcher along with a dvd stack and a ps2 so I can see behind whilst on the move if needed, its also shown automatically when reverse is selected.

In theory, theres nothing stopping you actually connecting a dvd palyer to the rear cam input but it would have to be a NTSC model and could be displayed at anytime by rigging a simple switch in the front which grounds pin 17 on the module.

The possibilities for wiring it up are only limited by your imagination.

Some great info here Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT), Single Pole Single Throw (SPST) Automotive Relays

Thanks for the wiring diagram, but I have just one problem left - I have no audio in AV mode... :( TV and Reverse camera works well, but I can't realise where I should connect the audio...

open up the white plug and check to see if there are pins in positions 4 and 5
