question, i did image update but it didn't change image. Im already working fine via v27. Do you have to rev back a version then upgrade again to v27 w\new image? When extracting the regular v27 navboot file with GIFextractor I see the standard black and white bmw logo image. when i replaced with mine in it was there but didn't show image. same thing when viewing UCrewX5's navboot file that was put up with custom splash screen. is that becuase file is large and\or is this reason my image didn't change? my image is slightly modified default image, just a little bigger.

If the gifextractor tool doesn't like the gif then it will not process it properly. The best way to check is after you have made your custom navboot file to then pull that new file back up into the gifextractor took and check to make sure the new logo has been inserted into the file.

If you are already at V27 then you have to go down in order to reinstall V27. Note that there are implications to downgrading your OS, such as changing to Euro mode.

I have got the .NET Framework 1.1 installed, as I can use the GIFExtractor to open the navboot file from V26, as I previously modified the navboot file in V26 to give myself a custom screen..

I've checked read complicated GIF's...The error I get is "Source array was not long enough. Check srcIndex and length, and the array's lower bounds."

2Wires, this is the debug info that is produced from the error:

NavMan - the gifextractor tool works just fine for me with V27 :dunno:

Strange, because it works fine for V26 for me, but not V27 :-(

2Wires, any ideas as to why it won't work for me?

Here is the new splash screen I am running. The logo colors are a little more muted on the nav screen then they show on the screen.

I'm not sure how to upload files with the X5world logo attached, but if someone wants the file PM me and I will e-mail it to you.

I did do as suggested and checked my custom navboot file and it was blank, but a file was there and in proper hex as was the way I viewed your first custom splash screen file. I will start from scratch and try again.

Anytime you want to change the splash screen after going to V27 you have to rev back and reinstall v27? If so, if only I waited an extra day!
