I have found on the net that is out V32.2 firmware, someone tried..?

Got a link mate, as I doubt that this is an OEM version, bmw have confirmed that v32 (v31) was the last for the mk4.

I suspect that it is a home modded version.

then it probably is homemade, I've read on this page
BMW MK4 SAT NAV DVD PROFESSIONAL HIGH ROAD MAP 2011 NAVIGATION UPDATE
and I found some torrent sites with this firmware but I have not tried them download

Sorry for a stupid question,
I'm new to the BMW world and just got a 2003 M5 and was wondering how do i check what version my Nav is and how do i go about getting a custom splash screen?

ccfj1 11-30-2010 04:44 PM

Press menu, then set, then look in the top right hand corner and you get the number there.

Current is 3-1/63 or 4-1/00 depending on what you have.

Search for splash screen for info how to change it.

HELP!! Update problems now black screen!!!!

First off I have a 2005 mk4 as follows: SW 4-1/50. Everything was working fine when I began the update. I followed the instructions and burned off the first copy of the v32 software using ImgBurn. However, I burned it at 10x, but it seemed to burn just fine. Also the image copy I downloaded was Mode1. I followed the instructions and got the update screen. However, it then said disc defective or whatever and said to hit ok. I did so and ever since then the display is permanently black now!!!! Oddly the ipod/FM and CD player all work. I tried loading it again and same update screen and error.

Thinking it was the Mode1 problem/10x burning problem, I downloaded the last link of the Mode 2 v32 image in this post and forced ImgBurn to burn at 2x. I loaded it in the player but this time no updating screen appeared. However, the orange light solidly turned on for some time then turned out. After about 10 minutes nothing else happened. The drive stopped making noise. Also the power led on the dvd unit doesn't come on no matter if I put a disc in or not. PLEASE help ASAP! I live in SD if anyone has a proper disc as evidently I don't know how to burn it correctly. I am willing to buy the 10 buck disc from the dealer but they said they only had one for the mk 3 and it was 36 bucks? I just wanted the newer perspective view mode! Please help. Thanks in advance!

Don't make things more complicated than they are--and don't use burnt CD's in your $20k + car...

You have the part # for the v32 upgrade CD. Take it to the dealer parts department and have them order it. Or go online at getBMWparts.com and paste in the part # and order it.

Quick question as I am at work and my X is inaccessible until I get home. I recently got 2010 updated nav discs and am tired of the old boring look of the nav. I have an MKIV with V32, is this hidden 3D perspective mode available without tweaking the firmware, or will I need to create a custom FW in order to achieve this 3D view?

Thanks guys,

Cool video mate.

3D perspective mode, to enable this, Perspective mode needs to be enabled in 2 places,

1: The hidden setup menu.

Go to the menu screen select set (or settings) and hold menu button for 10 seconds, when the hidden menu appears scroll down untill the perspective mode option is selectable.

2: In the arrow map pointing menu.

Select GPS-Navigation, then Map, then push right button, select Map Positioning and there select Perspective

Here is a video I made of how to get into the service mode.

YouTube - Secret menu on e46 sat nav

Map downloads are not allowed.

Hope this helps

BTW there are Russian version of the voice and text (in Cyrillic)

Thanks a lot ccfj1, can't wait to get home and make the change. New maps, new look. Seems like the mod bug will be tamed this week, man I love easy and costless changes.
