Guys, I really hope someone can help advise me about this.....

I sat last night and reall through all 60 pages, making sure I was doing things correctly.... and i've obviously screwed up somewhere.... just hope its fixable.

I have a 2005 X5 with Nav 4-1/42. I downloaded v32 from the 1st page of this thread and then updated the splash screen as per the instructions in another thread.

I went to the car and done as per the instructions, when I put my v32 disc into the drive the screen changed to say that a software disc had been inserted and that it was loading software.... then nothing happened, it just stayed like that!

Now when I start the car the radio works and the screen is blank.... help!!!!

Could this be due to the speed that I have copied my disc at, or have I really screwed it up?

Small update..... now when I switch on the car I get the screen displayed, ive still got telephone, tv etc... but navigation is missing and also the display looks really different, more basic???

The dvd unit in the boot doesnt have the red led lighting up anymore but it does accept discs in, altho they dont make any difference?

Help..... please!

Ignore my posts.... sorted it.... phew!!!

Copied the image at a faster speed x10 instead of x1 and it worked a treat.... now enjoying the v32 software!

Get a OEM disk, load it and you should be good. Cost is $16

Is V32 the latest and last version?

Yes, works for all I-Bus cars and all E65/66 cars. Available from getbmwparts.com or the dealer for $8-10.

Go to the setting screen and read the numbers in the upper right corner. What does it say?

You have a MKIII with Ver. 20.1. You can update to 3-1/63 which is Ver.22 thru 32 (no more changes). You could download the OS (must be in mode2 form1) or buy a Ver.32 disk from the dealer or get a friendly dealer to upgrade it for you. Or you can send a lot and get a MKIV DVD unit. Do a search for DIY info on this forum.
