Hi mate this may sound daft but what type of disk is best to us i have got 2009-1 maps but i need to but them onto a Dual Layer DVD is it best to use a Dual Layer DVD-R or a Dual Layer DVD+R or does it not matter

Hello from Finland!

Here in Finland we have TMC broadcasting but we BMW owners can´t use it...
So, is there anyway to "activate" it on Navigation map DVD? (on my navi 16:9 have TMC text green but still can´t get any trafic information)

I am a Newbie here.
I have updated my MK IV to V32 and use a originale DVD from 2003.
The system makes a black screen, when I have activate TMC. Do you think the reason is the old DVD or the V32?

Is TMC free of charge in Finland?
Is TMC a new service in Finland or has it been available for years?

If TMC shows green but nothing appears on the nav then
a) maybe the broadcast TMC codes don't match what the nav has in the TMC database. Not much you can do as TMC is VERY technical and complex. BMW has to release a map disc with the proper TMC database for Finland for it to work.
b) maybe your radio is not receiving TMC - maybe you are not tuned to a TMC station?

Don't know.
Try older / newer maps.
V32 was released for the 2008 / 2009 maps, maybe they changed the TMC database format?

Try reloading older OS, maybe your current OS is corrupt in the TMC database part...??

thank you for good tip. The V 31 probably have had a corrupt in OS. Now I had downgrade it to V29 and it works with all DVD I have under running TMC.

Modded V31 and modded map 2009-1 works, but when i enable TMC it crashes..... every time the TMC loads.... I see TMC going from "red" to "green" for a fraction of a second...then reboot... Quite annoying. In Norway - they are running TMC as a pilot...but I used to see many messages.... But now, I need to keep it turned off...
