Thanks for posting the answer, Quicksilver.

I thought Josh nailed it, but I remained somewhat troubled by the fact that the driver passed by a "bus stop," and saw three people "waiting for the bus." I was trying to figure out how the inclusion of these facts might be relevant to the answer.

Now, I know.

I suppose it's relevant if your decide to turn around and make a decision to pick someone up. It's a matter of choice. I suppose someone could say I would keep on driving, or any number of excuses for not taking some kind of action. A few posters said the question was an old one. So since I was not the author i honestly don't know why any facts were included.

I hear 'ya.

The staying behind with the woman of my dreams "waiting for the bus" together part sealed it for me. If the driver had driven past those three people standing somewhere else, either together or alone separately, that would spin the answer. That's what I got hung up on, I guess.
