I vote Maytag, and agree with the suggestion to go for a metal tub. We put Maytag washer/dryer combos in 6 new houses, and only ever had one (small) problem with the out-of-balance switch.
We've had front loaders from Siemens, Bosch, and another European brand (can't recall it), and won't ever have one again. Harder on the clothes, expensive, smaller capacity, can't add any clothes once it has started a cycle. Yes, they use less water, but that was the only plus. Because the machines were smaller, the (matching) dryers had less capacity, and ran as long as two wash cycles to get the clothes dry. I guess they thought we were only going to dry every second load. Latest house, we went back to the cheaper Maytags, and my wife was happy again.
