Oh Ok. Thanks for clearing that up. I didnt really know what you meant by your post. So in my opinion the 350 was a good choice for you. The new 3 series will be hardtop but i wish all bimmers droptops were. I never liked soft tops

You meant '05 645Ci? 650i came out as 2006 model. Before that, BMW only made 645Ci

A used 2004 645Ci costs about USD $8,000 more than a brand spanking new, loaded to the top 2006 SLK350 (let alone 2005 645Ci or 2006 650i), so I don't know where you got your figures from.

Ajogu said HIS choice is a 650, but HER choice is the SLK350. I can relate his situation. My wife's 328i is 7 years old (still runs great) and ready to be passed on to our son. I've asked her to consider an E90 330i, an E46 ZHP 330i coupe, Lexus is350, but nope, she wants only a white SLK350. It's her money, therefore it's her choice. But we'll see what the outcome is after we go car shopping.

I don't think I have emphasized the Wife enough. First off, SHE has to choose. I have tried to convince her to go for the 650. asawadude knows what I'm talking about.

The production year is what I call the model year and that's how it works in Poland. Sorry for any confusion. That settles the 2005 650 issue

Second off, I can get a 650 with a 2005 production year for approx. 90 000Euros with very low mileage while the SLK 350 with a premium pack and AMG kit goes for 82 000Euros.

I know the prices are pretty weird here, but thats how it is. I got my X5 last year for 120 000 Euros which is about $155k. Thats just how it is, so relax IFlyX5, my figures are very correct.

You guys better be happy with the prices you've got in the US

WOW. That's all I can say. That must be due to import taxes and quota.

I say go for the SLK. MB did an awesome job with that car especially with the manual trannied version of it.

The SLK is pretty hard to beat in terms of the hartop, the features, power, etc. There is simply nothing that has the same combo of two seater roadster and a hardtop convertible. The new 3er will have a folding hardtop but it will be a four seater and no doubt bigger. I'm not hot on the looks either. Boxsters, S2000, Z4, 350Z, etc, are out since they don't have dropping hardtops. The SLK is it. How about an SLK55? :p

Yeah, the SLK55 would have been great. Starting price is $40k more than the SLK350, but they throw in the AMG kit for free

Just too expensive for us. Pity though.
