Cons and Pros – MB SLK 350?

Hi Guys, after hard negotiations with the CEO (wifey) about replacing her MB A200 for a BMW 650 convertible, I lost . I fell in love with the 6 series after having a demo for the weekend which didn’t really convince her. Anyhow, we did agree that we should replace her A class for a fast, nimble, good looking hardtop convertible ( Hardtop because soft top cabrios don’t look the part during winter over here).

Conclusion – Lets get a MB SLK 350. Fits our budget, looks good, is FAST and in my opinion works well as the 2nd car. It’ll be wifey’s daily car and when I want to play around, I can drive a convertible.

I know most of you guys are not very pro MB, but I really need some advice. If not the SLK then what else is there?(remember, must be hard top and Euro Spec).

ps. If I get her the SLK, I get the ok to get the 168 wheels

My Mom drives the SLK350 with the premium pkg and sport pkgs, and neck scarf (totally cool!) she has a mars red on black leather, she and I totally love it! It in my opinion is twice the car at least as the 3.0i Z4 (I had a 2005 SMG 3.0i with every option sans m sport seats) and I did not like the Z4, it feels cheap, way overpriced and is full of rattles, its in my opinion way overpriced and while not as cheaply made as the *grimmaces* X3 its just no X5 haha, so my opinion? The SLK350 is an amazing car, very expensive but worth it if you can afford it

That SLK sure is SLicK looking, and although I have no experience with it, I suspect it drives beautifully. Go for it!

Cool car, but not a hard top convertible like the SLK is it? Oh yeah, and the air scarf really rocks

you said your choices are a slk350 or a 650. Last time i checked the slk isnt even in the same class as a 6 series. Shouldnt you be comparing a slk to a Z4

Although the SLK 350 is nice. It is a toy compared to a 650 as is the Z4 also.

What I meant was that I wanted the 650 which Wifey thinks is too big and the soft top won't work as her daily car during winter. Z4 was not considered due to the soft top and wifey not liking the design.
If the 650 was a hard top convertible, I'd be able to get the wife to agree.

Yes, you could call me selfish for wanting the 650 but hey, I'm only human.

Oh yeah, one more thing. The plan was to get a 2005 650 (used) which is more or less the same price as a 2006 SLK 350 over here.
