Tires for the 330xi

I think I'm going to go with the style 119 wheels... They're 17x8.. Does anyone have any info on a good performance tire for it? I don't have the exact size because it isn't in the catalog... But I want something that's good, but not outrageously expensive. Any input?

For 17X8, I would go with 225-45-17...something all season which gives you good all around performance at a decent price. If I'm not mistaken you have separate winter rims/tires right?

You have lots of choices for tires...check out tireracks.

I suggest this tire: Kuhmo Ecsta KH11 at $94 per tire.. good bang for the buck. It's a solid performer.

FWIW, when I upgraged my 15" wheels on my E36 to then-big 17" wheels, I went with what BMW was spec'ing on the E36 M3 which was 235/45-17. I figured that if BMW was using that as OEM then it ought to be good enough for me. What's funny is to think back to those days and being at my favorite Euro speed shop and all us going "wow" over the guy who fit 18" wheels on his E36 M3. "Those are HUGE!" Now even BMW offers 19" wheels as an OEM option on the M3. Incidentally, that shop used to be the N.A. distributor for Brabus until Brabus realized that they should open their own facility, which they did open in Newport Beach.

CJ: In 17", as Breyton said, there are tons of choices and luckily for you, prices are very reasonable.

I'm going to hijact this thread and mention there are a bunch of nice shops around the Orange County airport, including Brabus and Stillen. AMS/ABT used to have a shop in Costa Mesa--woulda had my A6 chipped there if I hadn't moved back east.
