I repeat myself, I'm not arguing. I did not like Milosevic, and for sure I'm not trying to justify him, but to blaim him for war crimes just because he was defending his country, that is ridicuolus. Yu said that he started the wars. I would like to know were did you get that info, and how much do you know about ethin conflicts on Balkan. I do not know who exactly know who started the war, and I don't think that a common people like us will ever know who started which war. The thing I know from my personal experience is that I was living in Croatia in 1991 when the war started in our area. The way I felt it on my own skin is that in the place where I was living, Croatian troops attacked us during the with the intention to kill us all, and if we did not defend our selves, we would be probably be dead. Though they did kill some 15 people that day, of which they have slaughtered 3 of them, of which all of those 3(2 women,1 man) were older than 65. I'm against the war, and ANY president that starts the war, is doing so only for his personal gain.

War in Croatia was 1991-1995, and in 1995 Croatian forces attacked the Serbian population living in Croatia, they had to retreat to Serbia. While retreating in miles long convoys, Serbian people (includin children and women) were under constant fire from the side of Croatian soldiers. There is still not know how many Serbians got killed there (few thousands). These happenings were nowhere published.
Who will go on trial for those crimes?
Again, I'm not arguing, I'm just giving facts that I know. I could type pages and pages about the war in ex Yugoslavia. The info that you posted is correct, he was charged for those stuff. Like I said, it was WAR. Serbians were killing Croatians and Muslims. Croatians were killing Serbians and Muslims. Muslims were killing Croatians and Serbians. I have lost several family members, neighbours, and friends during the war, but that does not give me the reason to hate all the Croatians and Muslims. All the people were doing was, fighting for the lives of their family, and that is it.

I tried to edit that last post wound up deleting it by accident, sorry.

The point was that no one is debating that it was a war nor that people were killing one another (military people). The point is that Milosevic was charged with crimes against civilians, and not just a few 'accidental deaths', he was charged with killing THOUSANDS of unarmed civilians, displacing millions of UNARMED civilians, crimes against CIVILIANS.... the crimes he's charged with all refer to mistreatment of civilians by forces loyal to him. That is the point of the charges against him.

I'm sorry for the loss of your friends and family during the war.

I'll leave this topic alone.

See gresch, don't get me wrong. It is true that he was charged, but also the Croatian leaders, and Muslim leaders did the same. The problem is that they will never be charged for their war crime. In our war people that died were mostly civilians, like in every war. I don't know how much you are informed about the situation in that region, but recently the leader (Ibrahim Rugova) of Albanians from Kosovo has died, and he is replaced by the man that is being accused for war crimes against civilian Serbian population in Kosovo. Nobody is trying to arrest him, or take im to court for war crimes.

That's unfortunate that Rugova has has not been arrested and charged, however, that doesn't mean that Milosevic is innocent nor undeserving of being tried for war crimes either. Nor does it in any way justify your ridiculous comparison of Bush to Milosevic.

With that, I am going to stop talking about this.

Have a good rest of the night sinx5

Rent "Fahrenheit 9/11", and then you'll see why was I comparing two of them, and why I think that is not ridiculous to compare them.
You have a good night too.

If you believe that F 9/11 is fact, then I see why you think all we know is what CNN shows.

You have a lot to learn about political movies (aka Stone/Moore/etc).

There couldn't have been a more biased movie made in the last century. Hitler would have been proud of it (or perhaps I should say Goebbels?).

The truth as pertains to the long and complex history of the Balkans, speaks in many voices. The ethnic and political issues of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, and Montenegro are so complex that is difficult for someone even such as you to explain the nuances. And it must be heartbreaking to have lost friends and family to a conflict which was hijacked in many ways by political opportunists.

But to us, on the other side of the pond, Milosevic was a brutal thug who by most accounts, used nationalism to create a killing field. While not the only thug in the Balkan conflict, he was by far, the biggest of the monsters and his capture meant at least he did not die a free man. Genocide, either offensive or defensive, is the darkest and most evil weapon of war. Milosevic's page in the history book can never be excused or rationalized. It is like using the Treaty of Vienna to excuse Hitler.

You are correct that not all aspects of the news is reported, but I don't think there is a global media cabal capable of re-writing history. Even Michael Moore has failed. History will likely view him equally as both a putz and mediocre propagandist. Some may argue the same of Dubya. And while it would be nice if Jenna and Tonic would volunteer (between Michael Kors shows) at Walter Reed Hospital, it is not fair to expect them to send them to a FOP. Wait until Prince William gets deployed--that'll be a logistical nightmare, but hats off, he wants to "be with his mates". That's the Spencer blood talking, IMO.

Are you an American or a Serbian? Either way, you have either the duty and the freedom to be a witness to the history of your people. Write it down. Maybe someday you will have a grandson who will wear the uniform of an American soldier. He will want to know how he came to have the honor of being an American and what it means to have noble intententions.
