Dr. Phil--Get A Life!

....last week I worked on a Dr. Phil Special for Match.com....(I'm a cameraman...)...Who is this schmo?? Never in my life have I seen such coddling towards on camera talent..(term used loosely...)...and I've worked on some large projects..The guy has an entourage bigger than Michael Jackson...Make-up gal, Hair gal (??...WTF??...He's BALD....) Wardrober, teleprompterer, wifey, son # 1 & #2 (on payroll, no doubt...), speech coach....He shows up for only 2+ hours, complains about the temperature of the stage, brow-beats the teleprompterer for doing her job, complains about the lack of craft services (food/snacks/drinks...), and then abruptly bails to another studio shoot, leaving us hanging....">>>I told you guys when I was gonna leave..." ...NICE.... what a team player.....BTW...Schmo drives up in a brand new Rover...with a dent in the front fender...I make $500 for 10+ hours of work/waiting...I don't want to know what the bald, fat guy made....Proof positive that life is not fair....

I've always thought he was kind of a schmuck myself.

Dude, he's the kind of douche who gives "talent" a bad name. Speaking from the other side of the camera- I find it's usually those who had/failed at some other career who then get a lightbulb and think "I can do that" and somehow get a shot who are the biggest arses in the bidness. Maybe they feel they have to prove more, I dunno. It's hard to be a nice guy when you're the so-called talent, but class is something you learn when you're a kid, and classy people don't walk around bitchin' about this and that.

Have never watched a complete show of his. Didn't like what I saw the times I stopped in on his show while channel surfing.

I've never liked him... this just reassures my suspicions.

I was never a fan of his type of 'psychology'... (if you can even call it that )

He basically yells at his 'patients' on national TV and tells them what to do. I thought the whole point of psychology was for yourself to find out about your own problems (perhaps I am wrong)...

Either way, I am just not a fan..!

For every 100 opinions there are that are con there are 100 pro. I don't know the man so I can't arrive at a conclusion about who he is but as far as "I don't want to know what the bald, fat guy made....Proof positive that life is not fair is concerned; IMHO it's not worth the energy worrying about weather life is fair or not. They are who they are, we are who we are and on any given day to someone else we could just as well fit whatever description we have of others. I love these words:

I'm Starting With The Man In The Mirror
I'm Asking Him To Change His Ways
And No Message Could Have Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World A Better Place
(If You Wanna Make The World A Better Place)
Take A Look At Yourself, And Then Make A Change

He's a d-bag made famous by Oprah and has zero talent what so ever. I have never seen such an overweight person make comments on other peoples health, and in fact how to lose weight. Every tidbit of "advice" he gives is simply common sense (my dad has a degree in phyc. and has a much more scientific dialog then this tool).

But then again it is just a continuation of the US culture where, for doing very little you can receive very much if the right bored out of their mind deadbeat thinks you have talent. I mean, just look at Paris Hilton.
