Thanks, but I already have 2

Adam's older sister, Rachel, is now 18 and when we got her a car for her 16th birthday she wanted a Grand Am . So that's what we got her. It's no BMW, but has been a good car for her.

Adam's younger sister, who still has 2 years until she turns 16, has her heart set on a new style VW Beetle. We'll see if she changes her mind between now and then

glad to see your keeping BMWs in the family. My first car was a 635 that my dad gave me. It had 100000 miles on it. My dad gave it to me it was his daily driver. Then after he gave me that he got himself a M6. Ive only driven BMWs since then. I just fell in love and no car compared since then

Wel, you've got two years to work on her... I'm sure that a few rides on her brother's bimmer may help sway her...

Fast forward 2 1/2 years. My son sold his 1995 318is last week. Amazingly, he sold it for $1400 more than I paid for it, despite having added over 25,000 miles to the odometer and putting on a few minor bumps and bruises that typically come from being a new driver.

The replacement? A 1995 BMW M3. It looks very similar at a glance, as you can see from the pics, but it drives and handles as an M3 should. He can't seem to wipe the grin off his face I just may have to swap vehicles with him now and then

Damn!!!! That's nice!!

I went the same route with my 18 yr old daughter last year. I got my X5 and a month later I found her a 2002 325i silver w/ black and 75k. She loves it!! I get to drive it sometimes.......

Also smart move on the 5-Speed, my son will have a manual when he is old enough. Not enough people especially young people learn to drive manual transmissions in this Automatic crazed country of ours. If there is ever an emergency where he needs to drive another vehicle he'll know how regardless of the transmission.

I think it makes people better drivers requiring some thought in the whole driving experience.

Of course there is that little problem of him catching 2nd gear chirping the tires when he learns.

They always learn.
