Below Average BMW Nav

JD Power user satisfaction study. Acura TL rates as the best. X5 is # 58 and X3 is # 53 . 9 of top 10 are Japanese. Time to dump Siemens VDO, BMW.

Maybe Siemens will pull out the stops in 2007....I've kind of gotten used to my Etch-a-Sketch nav buttons....

One reason I opted not to get nav was that BMW's is so primitive compared to Lexus and Acura. Hell, the new Honda Civics have a better system than BMW.

I chose a portable unit Garmin 2610 that I can take with me from car to car. Its especially useful when on trips (business or pleasure) b/c most rental cars don't offer NAV. My wife uses it every now and then, but its primarily my toy.

I think its better than OEM since it has touchscreen, has more points-of-interests, and the portability issues above. Hopefully, my next car will have a good OEM NAV with XM Traffic built-in.
