I saw that too, but I have to say, I haven't been very impressed with Automobile these days - they seem to talk more and more about the places they visit and not enough about the cars - and I think the photography is about the worst in the biz - decent shots but not of the right things and not from the right distance. They talk about a cool feature of a vehicle and then they don't show you a picture of it! Most of their pics are too small too. Oh, and Mrs. Jennings should really get a new avatar for her column - looks like she's giving the invisible man a BJ... (it's not in this issue, but look at some some of the previous months)

Just thought I'd share that...

I agree... I used to work there, trust me when i say that your observations are what they want the pub to be, to set them apart from the MT/CD/RT pubs.... more literary, stories about trips/journies and the cars they took, the destinations, etc. and even though jean isn't exactly ms. america, she's the coolest car chick you ever want to meet.

the point of the article was cars that had a major impact on the automotive industry in the last 20 years, I'm not so sure that the Supra fit in with that.

The 300ZX brought TT's to the forefront for the average buyer. The Supra TT, while now an almighty track God, didn't set the trend.

Yeah, I understand that they want it the way it is - just not as appealing to me I guess when I'm really interested in the cars. As for Jean, I've been reading her for years, and I agree - she's one great car chick who knows her stuff - I think she's the best writer on the team - guess that's why she's E-I-C! Some of those writers though - boy, they really seem to go overboard with the prose sometimes - makes it difficult to read sometimes. Just not my cup of tea I guess...

By the way, Jean used to be Jean Lindamood, correct?

I'm sad to see they didn't include the Countach or even the Testarossa. In the 80's those were the quintessential "dream cars" that famous athletes or maybe Sonny Crockett drove. They didn't really introduce any breakthroughs, but like the Accord was in the driveway of many homes, the Redhead and that Lambo were in the dreams and on the walls of tons of teenage boys who grew up in the 80's.
