I'm glad other noticed what I had observed on several occasions. What bothers me is the exhaust note. The raspiness was very obvious. Not nearly as bad as the coffee-can exhausts on the G35 and Z350, but not suitable in my opinion to have been mated with that engine.

Alas, I don't deny the power and smoothness of that I6. I know it's been a worldwide winner for years!

I'm going to agree with xx3 and KewlX5... I think once the e90/2 M3 (or whatever they are calling it) comes out, the V8 will be in the Z4 after a year or so... just like the z3 M roadster and coupe.

Now, about that s54 motor... i'll gladly take one, with a 6sp swap, drive shaft, ecu, wiring (am I missing anything to get the swap done??) Of course I can wait until someone totals their even newer M3 and shoehorn the V8 in the e36 I think I'll stick with the s54 swap dreams.

No Z4/M's at the dealers yet, though... I'm thinking it will probably take another week or two.

I'm guessing that the first one I see will be Imola Red. Can't wait to see the M coupe.

Regards, Mike
I think I saw one this weekend at the BMW North Scottsdale dealership, sitting next to an M3 convertable. Not sure when they got it.

Of course, you can get rid of the rasp through Rogue Engineering Rasp remover....that is not a problem, but I kind of like the rasp, but for 2004+ cars, it has been toned down a bit. Once the car warms up, the rasp is a heck alot less than my friend's 2002 M3.
