Maybe this is one of those products that you dont' realize how useful they are unitl you acutally own one.
It's a lot easier to glance over at a moving/live map than to read a piece of paper from mapquest when you're trying to drive.

I use my 2610 a lot, especially since i just moved to a new state and don't know my way around that much yet.

I also take it with me on trips, especially my yearly "get in the car and just start driving" week long vaction, it gives you the confidence to just go and not worry about getting completely lost.

So in answer to your question, yes, they're better than mapquest, and once you start using 1, you use it a lot.
