Talking Beautiful Day Today!

Today it's 4*C which is around 15 degrees hotter than it was overnight.

I washed the X, which now has travelled 62K kilometers, or 39K miles, which I've recorded. And I've made a video of how the X goes down into the pit to rest (its home is the underground garage).

This is a video of the beast going down into the pit

This is a video of an attempt to park backwards with one hand (failed)

This is a video of finally parking it underground

Where in downtown did you get it washed? Did you go to the new touchless place near Davenport RD?

South luckily. If I was in the north, the world would be in a big pile of sh!t. Well my situation here is that I had to migrate here temporarily without my X And I sure miss spending 2-3 hours cleaning and babying my X

Yep, Ottawa "enjoys" the coldest average winter temperatures. There is a crossing in Winnipeg, Manitoba, however, which year after year, holds the trophy for the coldest windchill factor.

Speaking of cold, that reminds of how this late January, up in Barrie it was -27*C. With the windchill it was past -40*C. This was at Horseshoe Valley. I was staying for 2 days, and the X had to be parked outside. Nonetheless, after staying in -27*C air for hours, she fired up on the first try.

But man, the pixels in the radio display had an LCD-like ghosting effect when they needed to change because of the cold weather. Oh, and the sound system had no bass until 20 minutes into the drive.

LOL and did I mention that one STUPID day in December when I was driving the X in -15*C with SUMMER WASHER LIQUID? LOL the stuff froze in the washer lines. I thought I'd surely busted the pump, but to my surprise, after pouring hot water in the tank, all thawed out nicely.

-45 - Centigrade and Fahrenhiet cross at -40 - a little factoid I learned on that trip. At that temperature, when I walked outside, it felt like someone hooked a vacuum cleaner over my nose and mouth and sucked all the air out of me.

Actually, worse than the cold was the thing that I really don't know how you northern guys deal with - like 6 hours of daylight. That was the most depressing thing about it that I could see.

Bav - sorry for the thread hijack - the car looks great, especially for having that much snow piled around it. I understand now why people talk about garaging their cars all winter. I can't imagine having all that salt, dirt, and assorted winter nasties stuck to my car for months on end. Yikes.
