Question Going on a cruise

Hey all

My wife and I are going on a cruise to Belize and Cozumel next week, starting from Ft. Lauderdale. Some friends of ours is renewing their woves at the Keys, so while it would not have been our first choice for a vacation, we are going. We got a couple of shore-excursions booked - like a river-jungle cruise and mayan ruin sightseeing.

To get ready we bought $1k worth of hot-weather/safari gear at Cabela's. We got tilley hats, and lightweight clothing. We look like Animal-planet-rejects So long story short - we are both pretty much clueless - what should you bring on a cruise? and are we going to look like dorks in safari gear?

Some insight in cruising would be much apreciated

I'm no cruise expert but I advise that if you are fair skinned to get some base color before embarking...some people hate tanning beds but 4 or 5 controlled sessions will do far less harm than burning and blistering while on a cruise...you will still want to take normal sun protection steps but you reduce your chances of burning and being miserable. The sun is like a torch down here.

You may want to put all your Cabela gear through the wash about 20 times to give it that "worn in" look...
