Smart cars on sale in US?!

Yesterday I was driving past a Ford dealer in Exeter, NH.. And they have smart cars on the lot! I had no idea they were on sale in the US.. I saw one going down the Everett Turnpike a few weeks ago and I was shocked!
Here's the website.. http://www.mcfarlandford.com/pages/p...=3304&navid=47
Has anyone else heard of Smarts on sale?

Heard about it earlier this year. But I haven't actually seen the product in my area yet.

The Smart has been sold in Europe since 1998. I was still in France when they start selling them. Now they are everywhere in big cities like Paris. It is a city car and certainely not a car for highway.

They sell them here in Scottsdale, AZ. Big premiums and a waiting list I hear.

Glad the "buyer" is the guy on the right, not the left,

I like them, but would be curious to see the real
cargo space; I suspect Acella is correct: 2-3 bags
of groceries and a pair of undies.

If 2 sets of ball chasing weapons don't fit, it doesn't
make my "really interested" list.

They would make some sense in a very urban environment.

Cool thread...I heard they "were coming". Good to see.

Andy Rooney's take on the Smart Car.
"The Smart car is half as long as a normal car. If all our cars were that long, or short, lines of traffic would be half what they are. "

You can fit up to a 6' 4" person without any problems FYI. I can't say the same for Benz's weird late CLS class creation...

It's a better looking E-Class with the same features, options and engines, minus the headroom of a normal car, but PLUS $10000 on top for nothing.

I spotted a smart car yesterday in dual tone red-grey. It was on the opposite direction of highway and therefore I did not get a chance to take pic. But the guy was going fast in that little thing.
