All I got was a diploma, but my first car was in fact given to me- a $300 1972 Mercury Capri! (in 1979)

Those Gremlins were pretty quick little buggers though, weren't they? I drove one back in my HS days and it could smoke the tires at will. I don't remember if there were engine options for these back then - perhaps I drove one with the "monster" engine option. Was yours quick?

A new BMW or Audi is actually becoming a somewhat normal graduation present.. There are a number of kids who get things like that.

I love to see girls driving a stick.. The first owner of my 330 was a woman, and she drove a stick.. A friend of my mom's drives a 2003 540i with a stick.

Maybe in your neck of NH, but not the rest of the world.

Indeed...and not in the rest of 99.9999999% of the world to be more precise. You people are plainly spoiled in that school. But once gifts and such fail to come your way, you will see how disadvantaged some persons will feel now that they'll have to work for their wants. That friend of yours will likely be such a person...

Bav don't be hating! My Parents gave me a condo and a brand new X5 for graduation, It was their money THEY worked hard for so get a grip, everyone is different! Furthermore simply because we're rich and come from rich back rounds does not mean we'll end up flat on our face when our parents stop giving us money, thats a perfect example of you being a jealous person, just live your own life!
