Middle East Scorecard...
Pretty good show & tell diagram, though keeping track of who's on what side or who wants their diff. variety of religion/neighbor dead, will make your hair hurt. BR,mD

Yup! That just sums it all up! It summarizes how embroiled the conflicts in the Middle East are.....

Incredible, isn't it?
Unfortunately, these folks have been at war with each other for ages, and it does not look like anything will change any time soon. Juan

It's beyond incredible - it's a conflict that dates well over a thousands years and will last beyond our lifetimes. In fact, there might be no such thing as peace in the Middle East.

Yeah, I must say I no longer support Israel in this conflict. I feel they are overstepping their bounds and killing people who have nothing to do with terrorism and all this for the lives of 2 people seems senseless to me.

It's a horrid situation, but if Northern Mexico was under the de-facto control of a political/military organisation sworn to wiping the US off the map, and two US soldiers were captured on US soil....we would be doing the same thing and we enjoy an easy 20:1 military advantage. However, there certainly is a difference (with vastly differing downstream political consequences) between a measured strategic response and the destruction of a country's infrastructure (which will have no effect save to support Hezbollah recruiting efforts.) I am scratching my head. And if any of those hottie IDF gals are thinking of going AWOL....

I believe Israel has a right to defend herself, but they are using too much force IMO.
Lebanon is a democracy. It just got rid of Syria like a year ago. They barely have a military because they had to rely on Syria for years. Now Lebanon is being destroyed. Their economy is going to collapse and maybe their democracy (we dont see this much in the M.E). Israel should have just bombed the entire South. Left the rest of Lebanon alone. |

how's hezbollah NOT a terrorist organization???? and if you think the 2 killed is the entire reason, you have completed missed the history of the conflict in the middle east. It's only a trigger. BTW, there has been NEVER peace in the middle east. Looking at the history, these people nothing but fighting.
