good start. Nice camera. Fooking expensive hobby (as md would say) and takes time to learn but once you know the basics you start enjoying it. Lots of info available on the web. Start with reading stuff on framing and no not everything centered looks great. .

Take lots and lots of pictures, birds, peoples, pets, stupid things around your house. Resize them and post it for us to see.

Start with something simple like a 50mm and see what kind of pictures you like taking, then make other decisions from there. You probably want to cover 28mm to about 200mm with probably about 3 lenses. 1 wide angle, 1 medium tele/zoom and 1 medium to long tele/zoom. The 50mm will be a good "walking around" lens that's not heavy.

After spending 3 hours detailing the vette yesterday, I bought 1 online last night. My days of hand polishing and waxing are over. Plus, the Trailblazer is too big to do by hand so it gets neglected, once I have the PC I'll be able to get a good wax on there every couple of months.

I'm surprised that you had a lot of residue with the DC polish... I put it on yesterday and had absolutely none... you're not letting it dry on the car are you? meguiar's polish is wipe on, wipe off, you don't let it dry like wax...

regardless, my shoulders, wrists and hands are barking .... gee, you'ld think i treated my body like an amusement park from the way this reads

np... i have all canon stuff so I can't recommend specific Nikon lenses. 1 thing to remember though, when you have a DSLR, you're buying into the lens system, not the body. You'll upgrade the bodies every now and then, but your lenses you'll have forever, so stick to Nikon glass, not Tamron or other 3rd party manufacturers.

yup right on and right off.. it's the brown stuff right? I'm just taking the easy route for detailing right now with zaino z2, z5 and zfx, etc..
