Hi there again, TitanX5. You are right, if JonK said he had a broken leg or a severed arm, I would recomend to him to go to the ER, not a chiro problem. He never mentioned those things or a spondy grade 3. You're right we can't correct a spondy like that. (You did see the sentence that I wrote immediatley after that quote from me you used?) But a chiro would be remis to neglect the rest of the spine on a person with a spondy like that.
Misconception No. 1. Chiropractic is not a treatment for pain. It is not a treatment for any condition/malady. We adjust subluxations (Vertebra out of alignment). These subluxations cause a mechanical interference to our nervous system. So could anyone from birth to death can benefit from chiropractic care? Definitely. We help one's nervous system (health) become the best it can be. I agree with PeteG. Connecting an adjustment to vertebral artery disection is not true. Have you ever tried to take a cadaver and "rack" his neck to try to sever or rip the vertebral artery. It does not happen. These disections happen more in the general population than in chiropractor's offices. Have you ever taken care of a disection of a non manipulated neck? And how many? It would not have been good for me to say anything regarding surgery or drugs because that is not my field. We do not need to attack anyone else's profession or use scare tactics. We are all trying to help JonK heal up and become the best he can be. We are all in agreement that conservative care is the best option to start with. And hey the best thing is that we are all here because we love our X5's. Good luck JonK we really do have your best interest in mind. |

Update on 8/24/2006.
I had an EMG on 22nd, and the doctor who conducted the exam (I don't know why she doesn't put MD on her business card). According to her MRI reading doesn't show that is consistent with the symptoms showing. Minor herniated disk on the left L3 and L4 is not relevant. It is possible that scar-tissue build up could have caused the symptoms. Nothing cutter could do about it. Looks like I am off the hook for now! I am still on meds and looking forward to speaking with my cutter. Thanks all for responding. From the kid(?) who cried wolf. |

My backpain has been back in full force last ten days, and this time around she is here to stay. My O.Surgeon Dr. Moldawer with SCOI has re-examed the MRI, and said there's a possibility the scar-tissue is hitting the nerve somehow someway, but not sufficient protrusion to do what cutters do.
1. He suggested cotizon injection, the first week I refused (because my first and 2nd time doing this prior to my back surgery 4 years ago didn't do nothing for me) but it got pretty bad I ended up crying down to the procedure this morning. They completely knocked me out during the 2 hr outpatient surgery(?) and I am all doped up. 2. I heard about MRI machine taking pix while patinet is sitting up, shall I give it a try? 3. My friend told me that her Physical Therapist has done a magic for her. Would that make sense giving her a chance? Please advise. On my bad day I am in 9/10 in pain scale, it is hard to resume normal life. Thank you for listening all. |

Hey Jonk:
I hope you'll get well soon, really! I know that pain. Take a peek at my spine after a motocross accident I suffered on october 8, 2004. I had a great day at the track, and was all set to go back home. I decided to make a few laps more.........I faced a big tabletop waaaay to fast and missed the landing ramp by 6 or 8 meters. The landing was so hard that made me sat in the bike (2003 CRF450) at great G Force and compressed my T8 and T9. Neurosurgeon told me I didn't need a kiphoplasty (http://www.spine-health.com/dir/kyph.html) because T8 is located in a zone that doesn't have too much movement. I'm half an inch shorter........ A week ago I went back to the track to break in my new CRF450!!!! no more big tabletops at 41!!!! Best! JRoig |

Thanks, I just looked at kiphoplasty link.
They inflate a balloon in the spine for a lift and fill it up with cement, yikes. No more table-tops or carrot-tops. Congrats you get to do your favorite thing again. Only this time you are smarter and 1/2" shorter. I have my badge of honor, 1/2" a scar, from Microdiscectomy. I am trying hard not to get hooked on pain-med I am on. I am a snowboarder but I would never try jump higher than my height. Man gotta do what man gotta do! Let me know if you know any ski resort in Peru opens during summer time in N. America. Summer in So. Cal is way way too long for me. |

OMG. THat looks as painful as anything I've ever seen. Try my site, www.athleticwellness.com. They have stuff called "flexibility". Click shop and try it. I take it for herniated disc and polled hamstring and now I play golf every weekend. No sedation.
