Security camera
I need one for my house. I don't have a garage  . I have to park my car on drive way. One day, in the morning, I found that someone put black color stuff on my hood. Fortunately, it was raining day so the black thing whatever it was not dried. Still, I spent a good hour to clean that up. Think of it now, the black thing was something that used in road. But pattern of black ink(let's call it ink because I don't what that is but It's not ink) was somebody's work. I should have taken picture of it.This is second time, I think it's time for me to find out what that person is. Thank you.

We have cameras in my parents development and in my opinion they are useless! They arn't true enough to see a face to be able to take legal action, good luck thou!

I just installed a DLink camera for a client.
http://www.dlink.com/products/?sec=0&pid=411 While it not small, it works very well and it has an outdoor enclosure. Works wirelessly and has a 10x optical zoom. For outdoor applications, the zoom is what you need! You can pan and scan to prescribed points with changes in zoom as well as upload pictures to a FTP site at various intervals. A camera should also be a deterrant for security, make it noticable and you won't need to rely on the video capture. I have tried a lot of cameras, this one is worth the high pricetag.

Get a wireless network camera with motion sensor recording and ability to see in dark. new cameras therse days can record on motion to ftp or email with screen shot. Linksys does it but no ability to see in dark.
X10 is not a good solution as anyone can hack into your cameras. Here is a store to see all at one place. Don't have to buy from them. Sony SNC-RZ30 is very good but expensive. Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba, Axis and Canon are all good companies for security cameras. Panasonic Toshiba

make sure you get a camera with 0 LUX and IR LED`s that way it will be easy to see at night. most cameras swich to B&W at night, it makes it better to see.
Keep in mind that all IR LED`s are not the same, some are more powerfull than others, make sure the camera that you get has more than 60 IR LEDs, i have installed many cameras and those that only have about 16 IR LED don`t work that well for outdoor.

As a Mac user, I use software from SecuritySpy.com and it is by far the best I've seen for the price point. Starting @ $50.00.
They have a nice list of supported cameras as well
