Awesome deal then, I figured wholesale would be the more expensive possibility but dealing with other dealers I didn't want to jump to conclusions.

find it amazing how some people had 5 cars over a 20 year life span and some had 18 cars over the same time or less

I got high mileage used ones when I was young and had to get new ones. Now I can afford cars that have five years of life left in them and keep them that long. My 05 X5 is just fine and I would keep it longer, but over 100,000 means work and money, and possibly breakdowns.
