I had a similar situation, I was on my way home after having a meal with my wife when abruptly i was pulled over by my neighborhood cop for speeding ( Not Really, 55 on a 50 ). When he realized who i was ( a local ) he apologized and thanked me for contributing to the neighborhood. ( I had the 740il at the time!) WTF?

Good job Laura. I don't think I have ever talked my way out of a ticket. Had to buy my way out each time!

I have the same problem.80 on the Freeway seems to be my Magic number while all the other Toyotas, and Gremlins, Metropolitans, Nash Ramblers, T Model Fords, Packards and Studebakers are passing me at 90MPH. Hard to figure what the hurry is after all I aint going nowhere where i need to be in a hurry. But these other folks? Hmmmmm Difficult to say. I hope the police catch them before they get me.

NO such luck over here. If your caught speeding your done.

The trick is not to get caught which ain't easy with all the bloody speed cameras then the white van cameras hopefully after today though the Gatso Camera's could be a thing of the past.

I was completely frazzled. Swear to God, didn't even try. How's that line from Leathal Weapon go (2 or 3 ) "Watch her Rog, she's got a talent"

Where was this speed trap?

Last week, I was on my way to rehearsal as usual on a weds evening, around 6:30pm south on 270. Surprisingly few cars and it was against traffic, so I merge up onto the express lanes, putting along at oh, 65mph (X3 doesn't have torque to zip up quickly) in the right lane. I pass a known speed trap and do spot an unmarked crown vic on the left shoulder, also facing southbound. I didn't really panic for some reason, maybe cuz I always thought they only shot radar guns forward before the vehicle passes them, not AFTER the vehicle passes.

A couple seconds after I pass the cop, the lights come on and the cruiser starts coming after me. My heart freaking stopped and like, fell thru the floor cuz I thought he was coming after me and I'm just 2 months shy of getting a full license (I guess 65mph isnt 55.....). I slow down a bit but keep going. Eventually he nabs the only other car around, a Chevy Aveo which was actually slightly behind me in the middle lane. Whether that cop was coming for me, I'll never know. But that was a shocker and kind of ruined the evening.

On a side note, anyone know how they use those radar guns? I have a front nose mask and lack a front plate, so they can't really get a reading off the front. Do they aim at the side mirrors? Can they aim at your back after you've passed?

In NJ, heading towards the bridge to NY. I've traveled that stretch everyday for 4 years. I have NEVER seen a speed trap. Usually one car, which I knew about. Had no clue there would be another two further up.
