with you guys. 18 years old + 333 hp M3 = disaster waiting to happen. Not every 18 year old with a M3 will stack it but chances are it'll happen.

B-Boi: Read Section 192 of the CA Penal Code. The other racer was engaged in a criminal act or grossly negligent behavior that contributed to a death. Street racing is an inherently dangerous act where if someone winds up dying, you're going to the slammer.

Here is a picture of the wrecked M3, shiny side down.

Not like you couldn't do the same in a Civic if you had enough road, but I think kids...and driving like that these were kids...are up to see what the vehicle can do and a car like the M3 (know from my 2003) is to easily pushed to the high side of 101mph...
That's what I'm thinking. You can't buy common sense.

Poor poor Alpine

But hey, at least they were keepin it on the StR33TZZZzzzzzz where it b3L0ngZZZZzzzzz

Honestly though, the sad thing is there are programs available for teen drivers. Street Survival being just one of them, and the Sunbelt Chapter of BMWCCA will be hosting one in December. The National Capital Chapter recently hosted one and the Dallas Chapter has one coming up... and you don't need to be a CCA member to participate, just a teen with a new license.

As prices go down, you'll see more "kids" in these kind of cars... it's already apparent with the e36 M3 and how many of those are turning up wrecked from people being irresponsible. And as long as mommy or daddy are willing to buy the cars, this will continue to happen. All the Street Survivals and DEs in the world won't instill common sense.

I'm done ranting...

And it's funny how to this day I still feel the e46 M3 is too much car from me and prefer my e36 to it.

I remember when I was that age. My parents were more than happy to get me a car but there were strict guidelines.
1) Under no circumstance, NO TURBO's (Don't know why, doesn't really make much sense, an audi a4 2.0 liter with a turbo ain't going to hurt no one.)
2) No speeding tickets or no car.
3) No racing.
4) No passengers in the back seat for the first 6 months. - They felt the more people in the car, the more distractions there were from the road.
5) Of course, no drinking or drugs

I had found a slightly preowned 300z that I was going to get, my dad drove it around the block and said, FORGET IT.. NO WAY. It was too fast.
I wound up with a bad ass Nissan Pathfinder (the first four door model) and got it in a manual transmission. It was just slow enough to keep me out of trouble. Had that car for 75,000 miles, 1 year of HS and 4 yrs of college.

I think the right car for teens is a v6 SUV of somesort. No 2 door sports cars or high HP vehicles.. Every one of my friends that got a sports car wrecked it at some point.

Is that a statement or a question?

I suggest a 1973 Ford Country Squire wagon.
