Do you ever just get bored with food?

I'm in a food rut.... nothing appeals to me, but I'm hungry....

Not even Mallowmars excite me anymore...

What's your favorite food? I need some suggestions to shake things up a bit...

G, I thought I was the only one.
After nearly 30 years of eating in resturants 150-200 nights
per year, I'm hard pressed to get enthused about "going out"
for dinner, looking at another rest. menu, etc.

We eat at home, a lot, mostly due to those decades of
"eating out on the road".

If you don't eat out often, in your job, I'd rec'd hitting a
resturant that is very different from what you are used to:
eg a Spainish/Portugese joint in the IronBound sec of EWR,
or a Thai joint, or India food joint: some diff. tastes and
foods you aren't "used to" can give your T Buds a kick.

As for home snacking, my former/current & main Monkey is
dark chocolate as in 60% cacao: once hooked one is hard
pressed to go back to milk chocolate, et al.

A handful of walnuts, a half bar of 60%, a qt of milk and
I am endophined out for a few...

I've been a food rut for almost a month. If I could survive by not eating, I think I'd stop right now.

My new favorite:
From Bennigan's...or any other restaurant, I guess:

Order the grilled chicken caesar salad
--have them remove the croutons and all cheeses
--no caesar dressing, balsamic vinaigrette dressing, instead

Basically, it's the lettuce, grilled chicken, and balsamic vinaigrette.

DELICIOUS!

I'm burnt on restaurants too.... I was in Boston all last week for work and ate out every night... dinner was always a bowl of chowda and crabcakes, nothing else thrilled me. What sux is that even though i'm burnt, i'm still hungry...

Try a form of wild game recipes. Venison or elk is much more healthy than beef.
