Are there enough players from either team who were NOT involved - so that they don't have to forfiet the next game? It looked like just about all the players were out there.

Definately not the coaches fault. What would you do if your teammate was on the ground getting kicked? You wouldn't just stand on the sidelines. I'm not defending them but believe me, I played in college and you look after one another on and off the field. With that said, anyone caught on film throwing punches i would say 1-2 game suspensions, the kids caught kicking, swinging the helmet and the guy that body slammed the other player i would kick out of the program. Very disgraceful and embarrassing for sure but banning the two schools from bowl games for 3 years, you don't even get that with severe recruiting violations.

A color commentator on the PPV TV broadcast (and former Miami player) named Lamar Thomas was fired for his comments while the brawl was going on:

"Now, that's what I'm talking about," Thomas said as the brawl raged out of control. "You come into our house, you should get your behind kicked. You don't come into the OB playing that stuff. You're across the ocean over there. You're across the city. You can't come over to our place talking noise like that. You'll get your butt beat. I was about to go down the elevator to get in that thing."

As the fight slowed, Thomas' comments continued.

And tell me that this column makes sense Even if you're a Canes fan, even though he tries with one weak line to disavow what is the driving message of his writing...that is pathetic and Freeman should be fired. You don't advocate doing what would get you arrested and thrown in jail on the street on a football field.
