Damn!, sucks to bend a rim

I've had my liscence for about 2 years now and I've had 5 flat tires between my two cars, but thats mainly because I frequent the industrial estates (for hobby and work stuff) where there is more debris on the road than usual

The worst one happened about 5 miniuts after I cashed in a load of aluminium and bronze scrap at a local scrap dealer (about $100 worth), I was driving out of the industrial estate when my front left tire deflated rather rapidly from a thick piece of stainless steel swarf through the sidewall , the car (BMW 735i) pulled like mad and scared the crap out of me. It was a 35* day and after I was done at the tire shop (near new Michie' fitted and balanced) I hat just enough money left over from the scrap metal to buy a pack of icy cold Scotch&Coke , so I guess it worked out even that day

CJ: Good job on the wheel/tar change...I suspect a few here
and, most of America, could not do one.

Ya'll need about 6 months straight of better luck with your
rides.

I had two friends with me. One boy, one girl. Neither had the slightest idea how to change a flat. They were all astounded that I knew how to do it and at how fast I did it. Everyone at my school who heard about my flat tire was impressed too. You'd think changing a tire would be one of the things taught in driver's ed.. It's very basic, and something everyone needs to know.

My (ex)girlfriend tried to convinve me that roadside assistance would be faster when we got a flat about a year ago,. She called it in to the RACV, I got out and started changing it myself, I was done in 8 miniuts, the RACV took half an hour just to arrive.
